Vintage Giancarlo Piretti Plia Lucite Folding Chairs for Castelli - Set of 4

Set of 4 rare vintage Giancarlo Piretti Plia lucite folding chairs by Castelli. These are in the aluminum color. These show some scratches consistent with age, but the Lucite is quite clear- not nearly as yellowed as we've seen some sets in much worse condition sell for quite a bit more.

In the 1960s Giancarlo Piretti joined Castelli, one of the leading Italian design manufacturers of the 20th Century. Piretti was instrumental in strengthening the Company's reputation and creating the most successful designs such as the folding Plia chair. This chair was first exhibited at the Fiera del Mobile fair in Milan in 1967 and Castelli has since sold over four million units. The Plia has won international awards and can be found in permanent collections of museums in Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, and the United States.
